Custodian -2nd Shift (Nights)

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION:  Custodian

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Demonstrate initiative and able to work without close supervision
2. Possess the ability to make minor repairs to equipment and building
3. Manage time so that scheduled work and duties are completed daily
4. Work collaboratively with others
5. Demonstrate flexibility with work schedule as needed

REPORTS TO:           Principal of the Building to which they are assigned

JOB GOAL:               To provide students and teachers with a safe, clean and attractive environment in which to learn

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Dry mop or vacuum all floors, spot mop and spray buff as needed
2. Clean bathrooms (sanitize sinks, ensure toilets, etc., be spotless)
3. Fill dispensers as needed
4. All marks on floors and walls shall be removed
5. Clean and polish all drinking fountains
6. Empty all wastebaskets, dispose of trash
7. Clean and dust all surfaces
8. Keep all windows, doors and walls clean
9. Shut off lights and secure the building
10. Keep custodial area clean and neat
11. Leave a note for the Head Custodian, Building Principal or designee regarding work that is not complete
12. Make minor repairs as he/she is capable; Notify Head Custodian, Building Principal or designee of all needed repairs
13. Be available on call when needed
14. Follow District policies and procedures
15. Perform other duties as required and/or directed

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) contract

WORK YEAR: 260 days / year round position

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the AFSCME contract.  The principal and/or administrative designee will be the evaluator.
