JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Kennett School District is seeking applicants for the position of High School Assistant Principal for the 2025-2026 school year. As part of our innovative 4-day school week schedule, you will have the opportunity to engage students in meaningful learning experiences while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. The Assistant Principal is responsible for educational leadership and student discipline for approximately 525 students and is accountable for the supervision of fifty staff members and support staff. The applicant must have knowledge of current school reform initiatives to include, Professional Learning Communities, the Missouri Assessment Program, Positive Behavior Support, Response to Intervention, Benchmark Assessments and Data Driven Instruction, and Instructional Technology Integration. The applicant must possess a strong understanding and application of curriculum, technology integration, school-community relations, and best-practice pedagogy. The applicant should be skilled in collaboration and consensus-building to inspire excellence in the staff and students while facilitating a team approach. The applicant must exhibit strong leadership skills and effective organizational skills with an emphasis in scheduling, supervision, student discipline, and program development. The applicant must exhibit excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills and a proven ability to work well with students, faculty, and parents. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for education leadership and student discipline for approximately 525 students.
- Responsible for supervision and evaluation of forty-five staff members and support staff.
- Must have knowledge of and the ability to implement current school reform initiatives to include—Professional Learning Communities, the Missouri Assessment Program, Positive Behavior Support, Response to Intervention, Benchmark Assessments, and Data Driven Instruction.
- Must be cognizant of budgeting and provide fiscal responsibility.
- Must have a strong understanding and application of curriculum, technology integration, school-community relations, and best-practice pedagogy.
- Must possess skills in collaboration and consensus building to inspire excellence in the staff and students while facilitating a team approach.
- Must exhibit strong leadership skills and effective organizational skills with an emphasis in scheduling, supervision, and program development.
- Must exhibit excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills and proven ability to work well with students, staff, and parents.
- Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
