The Kennett Consolidated School District is seeking a dynamic MTSS Coordinator who will lead and enhance Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) initiatives in their assigned building while also contributing to district-level planning and implementation efforts. This role is pivotal in nurturing, preparing, and empowering ALL students and staff to succeed in their academic, social, and emotional journeys.
The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong belief in the importance of relationships and resiliency, utilizing a student-centered approach to effectively support the district’s mission and vision. Applicants who are fluent or bilingual, particularly those with at least three (3) college-level Spanish courses or a command of conversational Spanish, are highly sought due to our uniquely diverse student population.
Primary Professional Responsibilities:
- Lead MTSS Initiatives:Oversee the development and implementation of MTSS-related systems, including RTII, PBS/PBIS, Social-Emotional Learning, Mental Health, SAP, and Early Warning Systems within the assigned building.
- Training and Support:Provide targeted training and coaching for building staff, departments, and individual teachers to effectively implement MTSS strategies.
- Data Analysis:Gather and analyze various student-related data (achievement, attendance, behavior, course performance/grades, etc.) to inform instructional changes and guide the planning of small group and individual interventions.
- Facilitate Problem-Solving Meetings:Plan and lead building-level problem-solving meetings (KIT) to address student needs and enhance support strategies.
- Monitor Implementation:Ensure the fidelity of MTSS practices at the school level, including both academic and behavioral support systems.
- Compliance Oversight:Monitor processes to ensure adherence to district procedures, state guidelines, and federal regulations related to MTSS.
- Professional Development Coordination:Coordinate MTSS staff development activities for school-based and district personnel, and attend all professional development and district-level MTSS meetings.
- Data-Driven Decision Making:Encourage and model the use of data to inform decision-making processes within the school.
- Communication and Collaboration:Maintain effective and timely communication with parents, staff, and other school personnel, and develop positive relationships with families and staff.
- Committee Participation:Serve on district committees as requested to contribute to broader educational initiatives.
Qualifications:
- A valid, active PA Teaching Certificate and current clearances (Acts 34, 114, 151, and 168) are required. Background/Experience as a Special Education, ELD, and/or Reading Specialist/Interventionist preferred.
