This position performs a variety of work activities that support the District operations, maintenance, and construction activities, including operating a variety of motorized equipment such as pickup trucks, boom trucks, dump trucks, vacuum trucks, graders, dozers, back hoes, wheel loaders, excavators, and other heavy equipment as necessary including all vehicles/equipment that requires a Class A CDL; maintaining the District Main Canal, canal laterals, and patrol roads; isolating systems and recording information; maintaining piping and valves; replacing turnout gates and other water diversion components; installing and repairing underground piping of all sizes, materials, and depths; flushing pressurized service area lines; making asphalt repairs; and other duties.Required Skills: Operating heavy equipment; identifying, operating, and maintaining irrigation infrastructure; reading maps and blue prints; properly securing trailer loads; operating personal computers; communicating effectively.Required Licenses and Other Requirments: High School Diploma or equivalent; Washington State Driver License with acceptable driving record; acceptable criminal background record; Class-A Commercial Driver License with Tanker endorsement; five years progressive experience at KID or eight years progressive experience in construction, maintenance, landscaping, or other related fields.See full job description here
