The Grocery Manager at Kennie's Market's Inc is responsible for leading the daily operations of their assigned department. This position requires strong leadership and merchandising skills to manage product levels, achieve sales and gross profit goals, and make sound business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve sales and gross profit goals for the department.
- Maintain and control supply and payroll expenses, inventory, and waste.
- Follow through on correct accounting procedures, including invoices, transfers, and inventories.
- Order sufficient quantities of product and correctly price items.
- Ensure the quality and freshness of product with proper rotation.
- Direct the stocking, display, and rotation of products in the selling area.
- Work with the Store Manager and Grocery Specialist on merchandising, planning, and scheduling.
- Maintain a sanitary department in the sales floor, cases/coolers, and back room area.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and two to four years related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively to customers and employees.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, and percentages.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
