Description
Purpose: Assist in the development of the Service Department by meeting all customer needs relating to electrical service.
Essential Duties include the following:
- Investigate and problem solve to determine most efficient way to install changes to existing service
- Working alone must be capable of performing electrical work
- Determine customer needs and most effective way to meet them then sell the solution
- Estimate the amount of time and material to complete service tasks
- Communicate with Service Manager frequently regarding scheduling
- Work around building owners and tenants to perform jobs
- Determine what is necessary to accomplish tasks and comply with NEC standards
- Communicate with vendors, engineers and other contractors to assure jobs are completed on schedule
- Contact customers to set appointments
- Strive at all times to meet budget
- Be on call 24 / 7 for 2 weeks every 4 months
- Properly maintain company vehicle
- Develop and retain client base
- Maintain daily logs and project tasking
- Communicate and reinforce and goals
- Perform additional assignments as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Journeyman Electrician License
- At least 4 years of experience as Service Tech
- Work 40 hours/week plus overtime when required
- Wiring systems and all phases of project installation
- Electrical control work and troubleshooting
- Purchasing of electrical material and parts
- Experience in commercial, industrial and manufacturing environments
- Meeting and exceeding customer expectations and needs
- Assertive and proactive
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements:
Able to work in all elements, depending on job locations, time of year, heat, cold, rain, and snow; Able to work off all types of ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms (electric or gas powered); Able to work at various heights up to 50’ from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, or other safe work areas; Able to work in restricted areas, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics; Able to wear personal protective equipment: hard hat, safety shoes, safety glasses (at all times), dust mask, ear plugs, respirators when required; Able to withstand repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers; Able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead; Able to carry tools and materials up to 50 lbs, from the ground to overhead and overhead to ground; Able to constantly move on your feet, climbing ladders, and working overhead
