What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Maintenance Technician position at Kenny's Great Pies?
Kenny’s Great Pies is a 34 year old pie manufacturer who leads the industry in quality and taste.
We are currently seeking high speed production mechanic at our facility in Smyrna, GA. Responsible for performing in-line, preventative, planned, and breakdown maintenance as required; as well as improving and enhancing machine processes. Also, will perform facility maintenance and repair as determined by supervision.
Candidates with high speed food manufacturing experience is HUGE PLUS! KGP is expanding automated production lines!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain the continuous operation of production lines by performing repairs, clearing jams, and making adjustments. Alternate between multiple lines to ensure balanced and ongoing presence.
- Respond to calls for maintenance on production lines.
- Perform preventative, planned and breakdown maintenance on production lines and mechanical systems.
- Help change production codes on a daily basis and as otherwise needed.
- Help perform machine changeovers and coordinate such changes with the mixing/manufacturing departments schedules.
- Assist Production | Packaging Managers and machine operators with any changeovers or minor repairs.
- Operate air compressors and perform maintenance as required.
- Complete all required sheets, including repair logs, work/part request, etc.
- Follow all safety and GMP rules and guidelines.
- Apply KGP policies in accordance with OSHA law and Training.
- Work to ensure all machines are guarded properly. This includes replacing guards when finished working, not bypassing safety devices, and properly repairing machines.
- Assist with the training of new mechanics, as well as machine operators.
- Perform all other duties assigned by your Manager/Supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be willing to work beyond regular shift, nights and/or weekends as needed since unforeseen situations occur from time to time.
- Must wear appropriate proper protective equipment (PPE) for tasks being performed (e.g. safety goggles, gloves, etc)
- Must be comfortable with heights; and be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be a team player.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong work ethic and pride in their work.
- Production equipment set up, maintenance, and repair background
- Troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems.
- Prior experience in a food manufacturing facility and/or high-speed consumer goods packaging HUGE BONUS!
