At the heart of our mission is a commitment to strengthening communities, and the KELA Social Emotional Learning Coordinator plays a pivotal role in advancing this mission. The Kenosha Emerging Leaders Academy’s focus is to empower youth to explore their interests and find their college and career pathway. As the KELA Social Emotional Learning Coordinator you will support our goal to establish partnerships to provide young people with sustainable life skills and relationships that will benefit them throughout their life and as they explore career paths. This role will focus on developing and maintaining KELA culture, fostering connections, and supporting student needs. This position may serve whole classes, small groups, and individual students depending on the needs of the program. This is a limited-term, one-year part-time position. Competitive compensation based on experience.
Job responsibilities
- Build meaningful connections with students and families actively engaged in KELA programming.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of local resources accessible to youth and families beyond the scope of KELA programming.
- Coach and oversee the Earn to learn participants and report outcomes to the KELA Director.
- Collaborate with partners to identify and address the specific resource needs of their clients.
- Formulate and implement a comprehensive facility code of conduct
- Design and execute a behavior management plan and crisis management strategy to ensure, supportive and successful environment.
- Support the director in overseeing facility maintenance activities, ensuring a secure and well-maintained environment conducive to the well-being of all participants.
Qualifications
- 2 years' experience working with youth and young adults or a bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited four-year college or university preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in driving growth and development within a non-profit organization.
- The ability to be trained in Social Emotional Learning and workforce readiness.
- Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders, community leaders, and partner organizations.
- Exceptional ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Preferred oral and written multilingual abilities to enhance communication and engagement with a broader audience
- Genuine passion for the mission and values of the non-profit organization.
- Proficient in using relevant technologies and software for organizational management.
- Background check must be clear of offenses restricted by state law
