Description
The Early Childhood Assistant Teacher shall work cooperatively with staff in the implementation, supervision, evaluation, and participation of daily activities to provide enjoyment and develop new skills and interests in the children ages 2-5 years old.
- The Early Childhood Assistant Teacher is responsible for the health, safety, welfare, and personal growth of each child.
- Assist with care and the accommodations of schedules for all children in a nurturing manner.
- Assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
- Maintain a professional attitude and relationship with parents.
- Comply with state licensing rules and regulations.
- Arrive to work dressed properly with appropriate uniform and name tag
- Clock In/Out accurately and approve time sheet according to deadlines set on payroll schedule
- Plan, conduct, and participate in recreational activities with group.
- Greet parents upon arrival pick up/drop off.
- Maintain cleanliness of Early Childhood area, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist with diapering, toilet training, and restroom procedures.
- Assist in preparation of snacks and meals.
- Supervise youth during special events, such as field trips.
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as scheduled.
- Sub at BASE sites as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by the Site director.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years old but can be 17 with DPI course
- Ability to provide proof of current CPR and First Aid Certification
- Must meet Wisconsin state licensing qualification as Assistant Teacher as minimum certification
- Experience working with children
- Willingness to learn state licensing child care regulations and procedures for Group Day Care Centers.
- Ability to work cooperatively with youth, parents, staff and community organizations
- Joy and satisfaction in working with children
- Ability to work with general supervision.
