Our client, a leading provider of distribution, warehousing, and fulfillment services for wholesalers, is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead a critical 300,000 sq. ft. warehouse / distribution / fulfillment facility. This multishift operation supports a nationwide network and plays a pivotal role in the company’s growth and expansion strategy.
About the Role
The Director of Operations will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence across all facets of the facility, leading a team of more than 50 employees, through managers and supervisors. This position focuses on driving efficiency, enhancing processes, and establishing scalable systems that support current operations and future growth. Success in this role requires strategic leadership, a hands-on approach, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic vision for warehouse operations that aligns with organizational goals.
- Manage and optimize a multimillion-dollar operational budget with a focus on cost-effectiveness and performance outcomes.
- Lead the implementation of systems and processes to improve inventory accuracy, labor productivity, and delivery metrics.
- Drive initiatives that enhance operational efficiency through LEAN / Kaizen methodologies and other continuous improvement practices.
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing warehouse management team to foster engagement and operational success.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate IT and operational systems, ensuring seamless functionality for ERP and WMS platforms.
