Salary : $50,000 - $65,000
Schedule : Sunday - Thursday

Summary : The Expressive Arts Therapies & Memory Care Activities Coordinator designs and coordinates engaging Life Enrichment programs that address residents' physical, mental, spiritual, and psychosocial needs, ensuring activities align with individual interests and assessments.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Evaluates residents’ functional levels and determining resident interests and social needs to create cognitive groupings to include Bridges Programs, Kensington Club, and pocket programming.Coordinates with the Director of Assisted Living and Director of Memory Care weekly to assess Life Enrichment needs and goals. Participates in transition intervention plans for those on the internal waitlist.Plans, implements and monitors meaningful group and individual programs and Life Enrichment for all residents based on physical, psychosocial, cognitive level, spiritual needs, and interests. Creates and distributes monthly Life Enrichment calendars to team members, residents and family members.Responsible for the completion of incoming resident’s Life Story and Move In at a Glance as assigned. Coordinates with the Director of Nursing and Department Directors / Manager to ensure that personal information is included in the resident’s Individualized Service Plan as appropriate.Supervises Life Enrichment team members. Ensures they develop and lead one-on-one and group activities. Ensures the proper preparation of rooms, equipment, and supplies prior to each activity and restaging the space after each activity. Encourages resident and family participation in Life Enrichment.Ensures that the activities spaces are well maintained and properly stocked with program supplies and equipment. Ensures that program supplies are organized and readily available for Care Partners to support pocket programming.Coordinates off-site resident outings and ensures that appropriate team members are present to provide transportation, oversight and assistance as needed.Directs the process of communicating with residents, families, team members and community via newsletters, calendars, updates, and social / digital media platforms. Ensure the monthly newsletters, calendars and daily highlights are creative, informative, accurate, and distributed on time.Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments in the community.Participates in the yearly business and budget planning for the Life Enrichment program. Monitor and adjust staffing levels, Life Enrichment planning / delivery, and supply inventories to ensure the community meets labor cost, supply cost, and Life Enrichment goals.Monitors Quality Indicators and participates in regular reviews to identify improvement opportunities and level of compliance with Federal and State rules and regulations and facility policies. Develops corrective active plans to implement and maintain improvements.Attends monthly Kensington Senior Living Collaboratives and participates in other professional development opportunities as required.Knowledge and Skill :
Must have excellent verbal skills and communication abilities.Ability to work effectively within a team-based environment.Strong time management and organizational skills.Must have excellent computer skills, including; Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Property Management Systems.Knowledge of photographic and audio / visual equipment.Qualifications :
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in music therapy, Master’s Degree preferred.Valid Board Certification.High level of musicianship, required.Must be able to read and write English, and follow verbal and written instructions.Experience in senior living / home-care is preferable.Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.Successful completion of Virginia State Police criminal background check.Demonstrate freedom from Tuberculosis by PPD / TB test or chest x-ray, documenting the absence of tuberculosis in a communicable form.Pass a pre-employment drug test.Mental and Physical Requirements :

Must be able to push a minimum of 200 pounds and be able to push such weight a minimum distance of 200 feet.May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during an emergency.Work areas may be subject to noise, distractions, and interruptions.
