Background:
Kent, Campa and Kate Incorporated (KCK) is a federal contracting company that provides professional services to Government Agencies. We are currently seeking candidates for an Emergency Management Specialist II position supporting a contract at the Department of State (DOS), Foreign Service Institute (FSI).
Position Summary:
Lead emergency management program manager for the largest domestic bureau in the Department. Oversee planning, administration, and execution of a program designed to protect 1,200 permanent staff and an onsite student population averaging over 2,000 per day on a 72-acre campus with eight buildings, covering 875,000 square feet. The population serviced by the position are approximately 45,000 annual student enrollees, onsite faculty, and staff. This number generally equates to that of a small municipality or a portion of a larger metropolitan area.
Required Qualifications:
- Location: Candidate must be located in commutable distance to Arlington, VA.
- Education/Experience minimum: Master's degree or two years of graduate education, OR a combination of education and seven years of relevant experience.
Other Required Qualifications:
- Expert knowledge of emergency management concepts and national-level policy, including the Post-Katrina Emergency Management Reform Act, Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP), and National Incident Management System (NIMS).
- Experience in developing, maintaining, and executing COOP and Incident Management Plans.
- Proficiency in developing emergency preparedness strategies and conducting in-depth research to support decision-making.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to brief high-level officials and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Experience managing multiple tasks, coordinating across locations, and working independently.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience planning and leading emergency response drills, including evacuation, shelter-in-place, and tabletop exercises.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and strong organizational skills.
