Position Summary:
The Community Support Specialist oversees all processes for the residence in which they work, ensuring accurate record keeping and reporting. Functions as a manager/mentor for DSP staff to provide additional education on software and systems. This position additionally provides support to people in completing their day-to-day personal needs, cooking healthy meals, accessing medical care, employment support, and social activities. The Community Support Specialist will continue to assist individuals in developing key life skills by providing supports based upon their person-centered plans in our community living programs.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to Direct Support staff regarding internal systems and processes including Paylocity, ICare Manager, and Relias.
- Schedule staff, manage staff call outs, time off, and scheduling/providing coverage as needed.
- Assure MAR books are organized and CMTs can complete their three-way checks with accurate and updated PMOFs, MARs, and Medication.
- Assure all medication, including PRN doses are in-stock, providing notification when refill medications are necessary.
- Provide guidance to DSP staff with timesheet accuracy and offering remedial education as needed.
- Performs record notation and other required documentation.
- Audits record notation of DSP staff and provides education to DSP staff to ensure accuracy.
- Maintaining debit receipts and logs, budgeting funds appropriately for house expenses.
- Complete grocery shopping for assigned houses.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Required - High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- Preferred - Minimum of 1-year experience in customer service
- Preferred – Minimum of 1-year supervisory experience
- Required- valid Driver’s License.
- Required – 1 year of previous DDA experience or similar human services
Physical requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
License/Certifications:
- Ability to obtain MTTP and CPR certifications. Training provided by organization.
