The Role
Assist in the organization, development, and oversight of the ABA Home & Center-Based Programs. Coordinate clinical behavioral services to include appropriate allocation of resources and supervising of staff to provide effective and efficient services to children and families. Design staff training programs to promote the professional development of staff at various levels. Participate in all clinical facets of client treatment, which includes assessment, treatment plans, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), and training staff on treatment implementation. Maintain accurate client records, reports, and clinical notes. Collaborate with the ABA Program Clinical Supervisor and Director to develop policies and procedures specific to the ABA program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Protect the rights and dignities of children with special healthcare needs and extend these rights and dignities to family members.
• Upholds and complies with all safety programs and policies to maintain a safe work environment for employees, consumers, family members and visitors.
• Commits to organizational quality initiatives by participating in programs that will assure quality improvements and team processes.
• Enhance the lives of those we serve through positive approaches, remembering that each child has individual needs and learning styles.
• Respect and support, within and outside of their family’s home, the privacy and property of all individuals supported.
• Assist in the development and implementation of staff training programs.
• Support in recruiting and supervising staff within the HBTS-ABA Program.
• Develop individual student curricula and programs, as well as the relevant measurement systems.
• Provide parent trainings to aid families with the carryover of treatment and enable continuity outside of direct treatment sessions.
• Follow all agency guidelines and department specific policies, i.e. sick and call in policies, dress codes, etc. as specified in personnel manual.
• Complete assessments with clients, develop treatment reports, and recommend appropriate intervention plans.
• Develop plans consistent with “best practice” principles and shall adhere to evidence-based treatment approaches.
• Meet with family/staff as necessary to discuss concerns regarding programs and/or staff when indicated.
• Meet regularly with staff to review progress and address concerns.
• Maintain licensure and any required certifications (e.g. BCBA certification); responsible for tracking and monitoring the amount of Continuing Education required. Remain informed on evidence-based practices through ongoing education via conferences, reviewing literature, etc.
• Conduct on-site observations and evaluations of staff working with clients. This may involve participation in supervising students that are engaged in a BCBA training program.
• Present case reviews to consultants; review incident management reports, develop curriculum for home-based programming.
• Perform any other job responsibilities as directed by supervisor.

Experience and Skills
• BCBA certification through the BACB and licensure in Rhode Island as a Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA).
• 2 years of experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders.
• Experience developing individual child curriculum preferred as well as experience in training others to implement evidence-based practices.
• Skills in effective communication with parents and community-based stakeholders is essential.

o Proficient in ABA principles, methodologies, and best practices.
o Conducts functional behavior assessments (FBA) and develops behavior intervention plans (BIP).
o Implements evidence-based behavior reduction and skill acquisition programs.
o Data collection, analysis, and interpretation to inform treatment decisions.
o Knowledge of ethical and professional guidelines outlined by the BACB (Behavior Analyst Certification Board).

o Tailors’ interventions to the individual’s needs, goals, and preferences.
o Prioritizes dignity, choice, and quality of life for individuals served.
o Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, caregivers, and families.
• Communication & Collaboration:
o Strong written and verbal communication skills.
o Ability to explain complex concepts to families, caregivers, and support staff.
o Collaborates with clinical teams, therapists, educators, and medical professionals.
o Provides training and guidance to direct support professionals and caregivers.

o Recognizes and respects diverse backgrounds, cultures, and belief systems.
o Adapts interventions to be culturally responsive.
o Advocates for inclusive practices.
• Ethical Decision-Making and Professional Conduct:
o Upholds the BACB Code of Ethics.
o Maintains confidentiality and privacy standards (HIPAA).
o Addresses ethical dilemmas with sound judgement.
• Coaching and Leadership:
o Provides supervision and mentorship to Behavior Therapists and Lead Behavior Therapists.
o Offers constructive feedback and supports professional growth of team members.
o Demonstrates leadership in crisis situations.
• Data-Driven Decision Making:
o Designs and implements data collection systems.
o Uses data to monitor progress and adjust interventions.
o Communicates outcomes effectively to stakeholders.
• Problem Solving and Adaptability:
o Ability to think critically and modify treatment plans as needed.
o Flexibility in responding to changing client needs or crisis situations.
• Advocacy and System Navigation:
o Acts as an advocate for individuals’ rights.
o Supports families in navigating services, resources, and funding systems.

o Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with ABA research.
o Seeks out feedback and learning opportunities.

Working Conditions
Family home, ABA Center office conditions working directly with children and ABA staff in a fast-paced environment; work with students will include teaching self-care skills (e.g., toileting). In addition, work will be conducted in individual family homes, requiring transportation to and from such locations. Additional considerations include work with computers. The position requires driving to and from family homes throughout the state of Rhode Island.

Physical and Mental Requirements
Ability to manage the broad range of needs presented by children with development delays, behavior, and physical limitations. Work will often include sitting in small chairs or on the floor and require rapid movement (sometimes running) to address safety and teaching needs of the children. Must be able to work with children in such a way as involves physical contact (particularly when there is a child safety need).
