What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Support Driver position at Kent County?
At Kent County Community Action, we believe that driving is not just about being a good driver. It’s about improving the quality of life and access to important resources for people throughout our community. As a Community Support Driver, you will be responsible for delivering food to homebound customers, safely transporting customers to and from activities and appointments, escorting passengers, and other assistance as needed. You will drive county-owned vans and small buses to locations all throughout Kent County as you chat with your regular riders and get to know new participants. Your impact on our community is felt daily.
We offer comprehensive training, competitive benefits including medical, prescription, dental, vision, and a fully defined pension plan. The hours for this position will fall between 7:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday, no nights, weekends or holidays.

High school graduate or equivalent. At least six months of driving experience in a professional or volunteer role with an excellent driving record required, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Valid Michigan driver’s license required. Chauffeur’s license is required.
