What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landfill Remediation Technician position at Kent County?
Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted Michigan driver's license. 40-hour Hazwoper certification desired.
In addition, the qualified candidate will possess:
Considerable knowledge of the mechanics of pumps, metering devices, and liquid processing equipment including clarifiers, chemical feed systems, filter presses, air compressors, mixers, etc.
Proven ability to read and understand schematic diagrams and prepare technical reports.
Ability to analyze and repair electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
Ability to prepare chemical solution tanks and to properly set chemical feed pumps at specified dosage rate, and ability to work safely with chemicals in various settings.
Ability and willingness to work in diverse weather and environmental conditions including operating a truck-mounted snowplow and clear snow when needed for site access.
Must be able to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time and push, pull and/or lift pumps.
