Outreach Worker

As part of an interdisciplinary team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing mobile unit outreach services within the Kent County Health Department's Community Clinical Services Division. Duties will include developing and implementing community outreach plans to promote Health Department services by assessing community needs, establishing and maintaining professional rapport with community partners, and increasing community engagement through identifying and coordinating outreach events and resource distribution. The candidate will also collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of outreach efforts.

Additional responsibilities will include overseeing the daily operations of the mobile health units, which includes coordinating repairs, overall maintenance, and ensuring the units meet all safety and cleanliness standards. The candidate will also organize the scheduling of mobile units, coordinating resource availability, and support the safe and efficient transportation of the units to various outreach locations.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm. Occasional weekend or evening work will be required.   No Holidays

High school graduate or equivalent

Experience in community outreach is preferred.

Must be able to provide services to clients in a variety of County locations and possess a valid, unrestricted Michigan driver’s license and have access to regular transportation in the performance of job duties.  

 The ideal candidate will be adaptable, organized, and passionate about engaging with the community.

 Physical requirements include standing, walking or driving for extended periods, and the ability to lift up to 25lbs. Proficiency in computer skills, including working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, database management required. Exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to be highly efficient while ensuring attention to detail is required.   Must interact positively and professionally with internal and external customers, and members of the public from widely divergent cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Ability to provide client service from a culturally aware and client driven perspective and deliver excellent customer service to all clients while following HIPAA guidelines is essential.
