Position Summary:
The Pool Cashier for Kent County Parks & Recreation is responsible for processing cashless transactions at the pool, including the sale of Facility Access Cards, season pool passes, and pool merchandise. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle digital transactions accurately. As the first point of contact for many pool patrons, the Pool Cashier must maintain a friendly, professional demeanor while ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the cashiering system. The Pool Cashier is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the pool office and equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process cashless transactions, including payments for Facility Access Cards, season pool passes, and pool merchandise using credit/debit cards, mobile payments, or other cashless methods.
- Maintain accuracy when recording transactions and ensure compliance with County and department payment procedures.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the pool office and related equipment throughout the shift and at the end of the shift.
- Report any discrepancies or errors in transactions to the Lead Pool Cashier immediately.
- Enforce pool policies and procedures and provide excellent customer service to pool patrons, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and professionally.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries about pool operations, programs, and events.
- Assist in emergency situations when required, including providing basic First Aid.
- Maintain an organized work environment, keeping supplies and equipment in good condition.
- Document incidents and report them to the appropriate supervisor.
Position Requirements:
- Must be at least 15 years of age.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with cashless payment systems (credit/debit cards) preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions.
- Ability to travel between Millington and Worton pools as required.
- Must be available for the full summer season, including orientation, weekends and holidays (Memorial Day to Labor Day).
- Professional appearance and demeanor in public-facing role.
- Ability to enforce policies and resolve conflicts in a calm, professional manner.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds,

Pay Rate: $15.00
