This position might be the one for you. As a Surveillance Officer you will have the opportunity to encourage and inspire at-risk youth.
We are looking for someone to serve as part of a multidisciplinary community probation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing monitoring and surveillance for juveniles involved in delinquent behavior and ordered by the court into specialized and intensive surveillance and probation programs. This individual will visit juveniles at unannounced and irregular times to monitor attendance at school, work and home. As the Surveillance Officer, you will monitor compliance with respective individual programs and contracts.
Must be available to work second shift, weekends and holidays.
Associate’s degree in Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related field combined with a minimum of six months experience in intervention services for at-risk juveniles.
Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related field desired.
The ability to earn the respect of juvenile offenders and their families and to interact positively with clients from a wide range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds is essential. [
Must have knowledge of case work principles using criminal justice and/or social work and counseling practices and techniques.
A valid, unrestricted Michigan driver's license and access to reliable transportation in the performance of job duties is required.
