What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager position at Kent Design Build, Inc.?
The primary company representative responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of a construction project. Directs and supervises activities related to contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, project financial projections, and scheduling requirements to ensure projects are completed in a quality, profitable, and safe manner. Focused on meeting and exceeding customer needs and expectations. Builds business with current customers by delivering on our promise. Creates new business with potential customers in a proactive manner, promoting our values and construction services.
Responsibilities
- Creating and managing project budget.
- Understanding of Owner Agreements including bonds, fees, notifications, schedules, reporting and costs.
- Completing monthly updates of project financials in CMIC software.
- Responsible for project administration and daily operations. Preparing and maintaining the project schedule, milestone dates, and close-out checklist.
- Holding project team meetings and assigning responsibilities, monitoring execution, and follow-up through the use of meeting agendas, action items list, and associated post meeting minutes.
- Comparing progress to schedule, comparing actual versus estimated cost, checking compliance with plans and specifications, reviewing any problems, and verifying the quality of work being performed to meet contract specifications, but most importantly the expectations of Kent Design Build.
- Managing the timely completion of project closeout and related documents.
- Setting the example and enforcing our safety policy when on site or at any other Kent Design Build project.
- Building effective relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values to meet or exceed the customer’s expectations.
Education & Experience Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field experience.
- 4-7 years of relevant experience.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Proficiency using PC, Microsoft products and project management software.
