Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Patient Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a medical or dental office setting and possess knowledge of medical terminology and patient care processes.
Duties
- Manage the front desk by greeting patients, answering phones, and scheduling appointments
- Utilize Athenahealth or similar software to manage patient information and appointments
- Assist with patient check-ins, verifying insurance coverage including Medicare, and updating medical records
- Coordinate care plans and follow-ups for patients
- Assist with coding and billing tasks as needed
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information
- Computerize patient records and maintain confidentiality
Requirements
- Proficiency in using medical software such as Athenahealth
- Knowledge of ICD-9 coding and medical terminology
- Experience in managing patient care plans and medical records
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience working in a dental or medical office is preferred
