Child Care Site Program Director Positions Beginning August 2024
Hours :
Part-time positions available
Monday - Friday 6 : 30 am - 8 : 30 a.m. / 3 : 00 p.m. - 6 : 00 p.m.
Additional hours vary on ½ day, no school days and school breaks between the hours of 6 : 30 a.m. and 6 : 00 p.m.
RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned) :
- Staff scheduling, monitor center staff hours
- Know licensing rules & regulations
- Supervise staff at individual site
- Maintain accurate inventory list of supplies, submit order when needed to Director
- Help with staff training
- Maintain family records for center children, update student & parent files as needed
- Send deposit information to Director for weekly deposits to Community Ed.
- Answer phones, relay information to Director as needed
- Attend meetings as requested by Director, including staff & educational meetings
- Works with teachers, secretaries and principals within school to facilitate a cohesive team
- Hold open houses as needed
- Work in conjunction with the Director to market individual site
- Work schedule hours, being flexible when needed
- Child supervision
- Parent & staff communication : letters home, newsletter classroom info
- Preparing & implementing lesson plans containing all components of a developmentally appropriate program
- Planning large and small group activities based on the children's cognitive abilities
- Implementing daily learning centers to incorporate : sensory, math, language arts, large and small motor activities
- Establish and maintain a daily routine suitable for the children's needs, adjusting as needed
- Responsible for daily, weekly, monthly cleaning tasks
- Greeting parents and children upon arrival and dismissal
- Use of appropriate tones with the children
- Always be loving and nurturing with the children
- Interact with children
- Lunch and snack preparation and clean-up
- Keep children clean : especially hands and faces
- Keep toys and classroom items clean and in good condition
- Monitor play between children
- Keep all foods labeled and stored properly
- Be professional in appearance and demeanor
- Come prepared for work on time, ready to interact with children at start time
- Keep head count known for children at all times
- Talk with parents on child's day to day behaviors and accomplishments
- Follow Treehouse rules and regulations
- Able to follow ratio of 10 : 1 (10 children to 1 adult)
- Keep accurate attendance records
- Odds & end jobs as assigned by Director

Education
Coursework in a Child-Related Field
Hours of Experience
Bachelor's degree or higher in a child-related field
Montessori credential with
12 semester hours and
480 hours
Associate's degree in a child-related field and
480 hours
Valid Michigan school age youth development credential with
12 semester hours and
480 hours
Valid child development associate credential with
12 semester hours and
480 hours
Sixty semester hours with
12 semester hours and
720 hours
High school diploma or GED with
6 semester hours and
2,880 hours
