Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR Manager to lead and oversee various HR functions within our organization. This role involves managing the daily operations of the HR department, from recruitment and employee relations to benefits administration, policy development and performance management. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage various HR functions effectively.
This is an in-person position located in Fairfield, NJ, Monday - Friday, daytime schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization.
- Handle full cycle onboarding for new employees including letters, reference/background checks, I-9 verifications.
- Oversee full cycle recruitment processes, including job postings, interviewing, and onboarding of new employees.
- Handle full-cycle payroll preparation and processing bi-weekly for multiple states using Paylocity.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans.
- Oversee employee relations, addressing grievances and resolving conflicts to foster a positive workplace environment.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, OSHA and regulations while maintaining company policies and contracts related to employment.
- Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures to ensure consistency and legal compliance across the organization.
- Lead training initiatives aimed at enhancing employee skills and organizational culture.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
- Provide support and assist the VP of Compliance with projects as necessary.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5 years of experience as an HR Manager or similar role with a strong understanding of HR functions.
- In-depth knowledge of labor laws, payroll administration, benefits administration and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to managing workplace challenges.
- Able to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google suite.
- Proficiency in HRIS software such as Paylocity is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Professional certification in Human Resources is preferred.

PAY RANGE: $ 85,000 – 90,000 / YR
