Job Summary
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dock Hand to join our team. As a Dock Hand, you will be responsible for supporting the efficient operation of our dock facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload passengers from vehicles, boats, or other transport vehicles. Use appropriate equipment and follow established procedures to handle equipment efficiently.
- Material Organization: Arrange and organize equipment on the dock to optimize space and facilitate easy access. Keep track of inventory levels and report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Equipment Operation: Operate boats, ATVs, and other equipment as needed. Conduct routine checks and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure work environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow proper lifting techniques.
- Communication: Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure a coordinated workflow. Report any issues, damages, or delays to the supervisor promptly.
- Quality Control: Inspect incoming and outgoing equipment for damages and ensure they meet quality standards. Participate in periodic inventory checks and assist with record-keeping.
Requirements:
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks. Comfortable working in various weather conditions.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate handling and organization of materials.
- Teamwork: Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills. Willingness to assist colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Dependability: Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.
- Experience: Prior experience as a dock hand or in a similar role is a plus. Familiarity with basic dock systems and logistics operations.
Working Conditions:
This position may involve exposure to loud noises, moving machinery, and various weather conditions. Flexible schedule may be required to accommodate operational needs.
