Your Impact
The Sr Cost Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of inventory accounting including manufactured inventory and purchased goods for resale. Responsibilities will be establishing and maintaining cost models, reviewing absorption of direct and indirect manufacturing costs and reviewing monthly results with plant operations. Additionally, the Cost Accountant will participate in the monthly close process through journal entries and account reconciliations. The Sr Cost Accountant ensures that the Inventory reported in the Companys books and records are reported in compliance with Company policies and US GAAP.

What You’ll Do
- Participate in the monthly/quarterly/annual close process by processing journal entries and preparing reconciliations to ensure Company books and records are reported in compliance with Company policies and US GAAP
- Develop and maintain control programs to ensure manufactured inventory is recorded and reported in compliance with US GAAP
- Facilitate the monthly review of cost absorption programs. Make recommendations for changes to absorption methodologies when appropriate
- Prepare reconciliations of inventory and related accounts. Investigate and resolve discrepancies between the general ledger and perpetual records
- Maintain transaction flows related to Work-In-Process inventory. Work with manufacturing teams to ensure reported WIP is accurately reflecting the status of manufacturing operations
- Perform periodic cost audits ensuring capitalized inventory is properly valued
- Work with International accounting team to understand manufacturing transaction flows and costing programs in wholly owned foreign subsidiary
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance
- 3 years of relevant accounting experience in a manufactured inventory environment
- Proven experience in developing/maintaining inventory costing models
- Willingness to accept additional responsibility and the ability to work as a team player to collaborate across departmental functions
- Highest level of ethical standards, integrity, professionalism and judgment. Ability to maintain discretion with confidential information
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting
- Detail oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information and interact effectively with Senior Management
- Ability to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience and dedication
