The Staff Tax Accountant, reporting to the Accounting Manager, is responsible for delivering high quality service to both internal and external customers and will support various areas of the Accounting Department. What You’ll Do
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly sales/use tax, Goods & services tax, and value added tax returns
- Work with credit team on maintaining resale certificate database
- Monitor daily DTC sales activity for compliance with sales tax regulations
- Participate in the daily operations of the accounting department including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable.
- Ensure financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
- Participates in an accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycle.
- Prepares timely general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
- Gathers and prepares audit data for various audits as required.
- Responsible for the retention of records relating to the finance department.
- Stay up to date with industry changes, regulations, and best practices in accounting and finance.
What You’ve Accomplished
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1- 3 years of progressive accounting experience
- High level of PC skills and Advanced Excel skills
- Detail oriented and accurate with numbers and the presentation of accounting data
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and sales/use tax regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Dynamics365, QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite) and sales tax software (Avalara).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
