Are you ready to join a FIVE-TIME US Best Managed Company?! KENT® Pet Group, a division of KENT Corporation's family of companies, is actively seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor. This role is responsible for execution of KENT Pet Group Quality Assurance programs, as well as supervising the quality assurance and quality control activities within the organization, with an interest in growing in the pet and pet food industry.
- This position is designed and intended to be performed in Muscatine, IA.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee Quality Control (QC) staff, conduct audits and inspections, and ensure that products and processes meet quality standards.
- Implement Quality Procedures: Ensure that quality control procedures are followed and identify areas for improvement.
- Audit Processes: Conduct audits of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Training: Train QC staff on quality control practices and procedures.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of quality control activities and prepare reports for management.
- Coordinate Corrective Actions: Work with production teams to identify and rectify quality issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Supplier Quality: Assist in evaluating and monitoring supplier quality to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Industry Expertise: Utilize knowledge of animal nutrition and the pet food industry to ensure products meet specific industry standards and regulations.
- LabSoft & TraceGaines System Maintenance.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance and/or quality control roles.
- Strong supervisory skills, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in quality management software.
- Relevant certifications such as Six Sigma, ISO 9001, or ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) are a plus.
TRAVEL:
- As needed to attend conferences, training, and/or discovery and support work with co-manufacturing partners.
OTHER INFORMATION:
- Role requires availability to team members working in a 24/7 manufacturing facility, including nights, weekends and holidays.
