KENT® Pet Group is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our growing team! The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for processing customer program credits, clearing customer program deductions and working other short payments in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with company policies and procedures. This is an hourly position with a complete benefits package reporting to the Accounting Supervisor.
- This position is designed and intended to be performed in Muscatine, IA.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Corresponding with customers regarding payment deductions in a fast-paced goal oriented department.
- Responsible for research, resolution and clearing of customer deductions taken against accounts receivable invoices
- Navigate various vendor portals to research required back up for short pays.
- Accountable for reducing short payment balances for assigned accounts.
- Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the short payment resolution process.
- Enlist the efforts of sales and senior management when necessary to accelerate the resolution process.
- Must communicate & follow up effectively with sales department regarding customer short payments on a timely basis.
- Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with brokers and sales team.
- All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree in Accounting or Business
- Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience preferably with collections/dispute resolution and basic accounting knowledge.
- Strong Microsoft Excel experience necessary
- Pays attention to details
