About the job :
Kent is looking for an Electrical Engineer to be based in Greater Chicago, Illinois area.
You will be part of our Kent Houston Engineering Team in support of our client's petrochemical facility. This position is based in our client's on-site offices in Greater Chicago area. Skills and Responsibilities :
- Provide electrical technical support in areas including but not limited to :
- Main and Auxiliary Diesel and Gas Turbine Generators,
- Integrated Electrical Plants (hybrid and full),
- Low Voltage AC and DC, and Medium Voltage AC Electrical Plants,
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Electrical Plant Load Analyses (EPLA),
- One-Line Diagrams,
- Power Load Flow,
- Harmonic Power Quality,
- Transient System and Fault Current Analyses,
- Circuit Breaker Protective Coordination Studies, Machinery Centralized Control Systems (MCCS).
- Perform electrical feasibility and selection for design in electrical systems with generators, motors, variable frequency drives, transformers, uninterruptable power systems (UPS), control panels, HVAC controls, lighting systems, surveillance and communication systems, cables, timers, circuit breakers, power panels, batteries, relays, and other electrical components.
- Work with and create one-line diagrams, electrical plant load analysis (EPLA), utilizing load factors, power factors, and power factor correction (leading and lagging).
- Determine root cause failures and correct them.
- Write customer system specific installation and operator maintenance manuals which include detailed drawings, test plans and procedures.
- Provide regulatory interpretations that translate into technical requirements which can be understood by contractors and field personnel.
- Ability to support specific areas in proposals and willingness to learn larger proposal support efforts.

These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization.
