What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deli Cook position at Kent School Corporation?
Schedule/travel: Full-time calendar year position. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:15 am to 7:15 pm (includes a ½ hour unpaid lunch period). Additional hours may be required. Schedule may vary according to the Department and Kent School needs.

Prepare all deli meats and salads for service and special functions.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:
● Prepare all necessary food items for service (slice meats and cheeses, create salads, prepare spreads).
● Monitor station during service for sanitation and cleanliness as well as ensure the station is well stocked and fresh.
● Prepare items to support the hotline menu as needed.
● Inspect food for taste, quality and overall appearance.
● Recommend changes to improve quality, flavors and cost efficiency.
● Maintain a clean and safe environment based on Federal, State and Local regulations along with FIFO.
● Ownership of the station’s refrigerator storage areas and ensure proper labeling.
● Perform other duties as needed and assigned.
The ideal candidate will:
● Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to communicate with coworkers in a constructive and positive manner.
● Possess the ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time effectively.
● Able to work independently and make sound decisions with flexibility/adaptability and have a calm demeanor.
● Contribute to team effort by supporting other stations as needed.
● High School degree or a combination of education and work experience in related fields, preferably in a busy cafeteria style environment. Servsafe certification is required (will be provided if needed).
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands listed below are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:
● Requires employees to be on their feet for extended periods, and climb stairs.
● Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
Additional Requirements:
● Successful completion of post-offer, pre-employment criminal background checks and drug test.
● Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
● Work is performed on a smoke-free campus.
