What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher position at Kent School Corporation?
Position Summary:
To ensure the kitchen is kept well stocked with clean, sanitary dishware and cooking equipment.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:
● Work the “load” end of the dish machine during service, loading dirty dishes and pans into the dish machine.
● Monitor station during service for sanitation and cleanliness.
● Assist with afternoon prep after restocking for next day’s service.
● Sweep the dining room and servery after lunch, spot mop as needed.
● Recommend changes to improve efficiencies.
● Maintain a clean and safe environment based on Federal, State and Local regulations. FIFO.
● Ensure all items are labeled for identification (i.e. spray bottles).
● Ownership of the station’s storage areas.
● Performs other duties as needed and assigned.
Qualifications:
A High School degree or a combination of education and work experience in related fields, preferably in a busy cafeteria style environment. Servsafe certification is required (will be provided if needed).
Schedule/travel: Full-time calendar year position. The typical schedule is Wednesday through Saturday, 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, and Sunday from 10: 00 am to 6:30 pm. Additional hours may be required. Schedule may vary according to the Department and Kent School needs.

● Able to work independently and make sound decisions with flexibility/adaptability and have a calm demeanor.
● Contribute to team effort by supporting other stations as needed.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands listed below are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:
● Requires employees to be on their feet for extended periods, and climb stairs.
● Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
Additional Requirements:
● Successful completion of post-offer, pre-employment criminal background checks and drug test.
● Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
● Work is performed on a smoke free campus.
