What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Boys Varisty Soccer Coach position at Kent School?
Kent School seeks a Head Boys Varsity Soccer Coach who is committed to the growth and well-being of our students. An ideal candidate will possess a working knowledge of the game of soccer and have previous experience coaching at the high school, college or club level. They would be expected to run afternoon practices on campus in addition to coaching interscholastic games throughout New England. The candidate must have the ability to effectively communicate with student-athletes, coaches, and athletic and school administration. This role can be combined with any open full-time teaching position or open department vacancies for the academic year.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Serving in either a teaching role or department role in keeping with the mission, values, and standards established by Kent School;
- Coaching two seasons of interscholastic sports
- Performing regular duty in our residential program (if hired as faculty)
- Participating in Faculty committees (if hired as faculty)
- Serving as Advisor to 5-7 students (if hired as faculty)
- Maintaining Public Passenger Endorsement to drive a school vehicle for school activities.

- Planning and leading practice sessions
- Creating strategies to build a competitive and positive team environment
- Maintaining player and team records
- Mentoring players to develop sportsmanship and respect of the game
- Recruiting new athletes for the team
- Successful completion of post-offer, pre-employment background checks and drug test;
- Maintain punctual and regular attendance;
- Work is performed on a smoke free campus.
