LEAD OPERATOR

KENT® Nutrition Group, a member of the KENT Corporation family of companies has an exciting opportunity to join their team as a Lead Operator at our Logansport, IN plant. This is a 2nd shift opportunity with an approximate schedule of 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

• This position is designed and intended to be performed in Logansport, IN.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Report any factors that may influence the quality and safety of finished feed and ingredients to the immediate supervisor.
• Must have a good understanding and adhere to companies flushing and sequencing policies.
• Will preform day to day production operations as assigned by immediate supervisor.
• Will be versatile in assisting other operators when time permits.
• Will train operators in all areas of production when needed.
• Will be flexible with helping nightshift run efficiently when needed (maybe up to 1 or 2 weeks at a time).
• Will report any deviance or production issues to supervisor.
• Will trouble shoot and help assist when equipment malfunctions.
• Will help ensure operators day to day duties are performed.
• Will help with counts for month end inventories.
• Must perform all work in compliance with OSHA standards and Kent Nutrition Group, Inc. safety policies.
• Other duties as assigned by plant management.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Knowledge of warehouse equipment.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Good communication, verbal, written and math skills.
• Work and cooperate with all fellow employees.
• Thorough understanding of cGMP’s.
• Knowledge of HACCP Feed & Food Safety Plan.
• Knowledge of FSMA.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to safely lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to working height, as job requires.
• Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
