The Warehouse Associate is a vital member of our team that is responsible for the efficient flow and movement of materials and equipment within the warehouse. This position handles various tasks related to receiving, organizing and shipping inventory and equipment. The Warehouse Associate balances their duties between physically operating a fork truck to move materials as well as performing clerical work within our inventory management software to track inventory.
- This position is designed and intended to be performed in New Sharon, Iowa.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive incoming materials and equipment, verifying quantities against purchase orders and packing lists
- Organize, pull orders, and stage materials in designated storage areas
- Maintain inventory accuracy, utilizing inventory management software
- Identify, obtain, pack/crate LTL [less than load] shipments
- Prepare material kits and packages according to order requirements, ensuring all necessary components are included
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures related to material handling and storage
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- All other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1 year experience in a manufacturing, warehouse or distribution center operating a forklift
- Team player approach with the ability to work independently
- Ability to take direction
- Good communication skills
- Ability to learn and become efficient with the Microsoft Dynamics AX system
- Ability to safely operate a fork truck
- Basic computer and mathematical skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling and tracking materials
