Job Summary:
Under the direction of the CEO, works to build additional support for KSI from all segments of the community. This involves making presentations, coordinating special fundraising and agency events. Also responsible for developing and implementing strategies to attract and enroll participants, manage the admissions process and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. Will develop and maintain relationships with schools, referral agencies and stakeholders to promote KSI programs and services.
This position is a full-time position which reports to the CEO. Agency hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. This position is a Pay Grade 10 with a starting annual salary of $68,970. Salary is commensurate with experience. Essential Functions:
Community Relations
1. Cultivates and maintains community support with key donors, sponsors, and philanthropic organizations for fund raising opportunities.
2. Establishes relationships with community organizations, local government, and media.
3. Identifies potential partners to meet the needs of KSI initiatives.
4. Manages public relations in coordination with Director of Communications.
5. Represents KSI at community events, meetings, and other forums.
6. Prepares and delivers presentations on KSl's initiatives to community organizations, local and state agencies, stakeholders, and other community groups.
7. Assists/creates promotional materials and collaborates with Director of Communications.
Participant Admissions
1. Collaborates with State of Delaware Division of Developmental Disabilities Services, third party case management agencies and other funding source representatives to obtain referrals.
2. Seeks applicants from referral sources and establishes relationships with referral sources.
3. Assists in potential applicant screening for admissions to receive services.
4. Gather required assessments for admissions to meet regulatory requirements.
5. Provides information and tours to potential participants, families, and agencies interested in KSI onsite and offsite programs.
6. Represents KSI at conferences, fairs, and other public events.
7. Develops and maintains relationships with school districts in Delaware, including but not limited to attending transitions events, family nights, provider resource fairs, and any other school events to promote awareness of KSI programs and initiatives.
Other Requirements:
1. Adheres to all KSI policies and procedures.
2. Follows all safety procedures and works in a safe manner.
3. Attends community events, fairs, or other community items outside "normal" KSI hours as needed.
4. Maintains specific training and/or certification applicable to position as required by ODDS; MANDT and CPR/First Aid/AED. Responsible for completing on-line training on-time. Initial training may include but is not limited to; New Employee Orientation, CPR/AED, First Aid, MANDT Training, and all other training and certifications.
5. Conducts themselves in a positive and professional manner. Will have and project a positive and supportive attitude about KSI, fellow employees and the individuals KSI serves.
6. Completes other duties as assigned by the CEO or designee.
Interactions:
Develop an effective working relationship with all segments of the community funders. Contact members of service clubs, churches, and other community groups to engage interest in KSI. Maintain contacts with KSI staff to develop full understanding of the programs and to keep abreast of happenings. Coordinates meetings and tours with families, providers, multiple outside agencies including ODDS, Columbus, Nursing and Behavioral Management agencies.
Skills and Abilities:
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, computer skills and database skills, the ability to plan, organize and implement fund raising projects, have a working knowledge of the local news media, and the ability to network community organizations.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field is preferred. Two years of relevant work experience is required. Must be able to pass a Criminal Background check, Adult Abuse Registry check and Child Abuse Registry check and Sex Offender Listing. Must have a valid driver's license with no more than two moving violations at time of hire.
