Job Details
Primary Function: Responsible for providing respiratory care and assisting with the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation for a range of cardiopulmonary diseases and disorders.
Perform respiratory therapy treatments according to physician orders, including aerosol medication delivery, lung expansion and airway clearance modalities, maintenance of natural and artificial airways, care planning, and patient education.
Obtain arterial blood from radial artery for blood gas analysis. Interpret results and recommend appropriate treatment to physician.
Provide ventilator management, including initiation, maintenance, monitoring, assessment, input in rounds, and liberation. Perform nasal, oral and pharyngeal suctioning.
Provide rapid response assessment and emergency care, including airway management, CPR, trauma care, manual and mechanical ventilatory support, and oxygenation support.
Provide support and monitoring for patient transport within the Hospital and to other hospitals using portable ventilators, manual resuscitators oxygen delivery systems, and monitors.
Set up and administer oxygen using a variety of devices.
Perform charges, record keeping, and equipment changes and reprocessing as required.
Record pertinent information in the patient's medical record regarding therapy provided, medication administered, and patient response.
Provides pertinent information to oncoming staff to ensure safe patient handoffs.
Provides patient and family education to assist in self-care and care transitions.
Trains employees and students in day-to-day procedures. May be responsible for overseeing and prioritizing care in the absence of a supervisor.

Current RI License
CRT or RRT certifications
Current BLS certification
Additional Details
Proof of COVID Vaccine series OR Bivalent booster required. Medical exemption reviewed and approved by CNE medical exemption review group prior to start.
Proof of 2 immunizations or positive titer for all three.
N95 mask: 3M 9205 , 3M 1870 , 3M 8210, or 3M 8210 . Must be done within a year of start. Fit Testing is required prior to start.
Complete vaccination series OR declination.
Flu shot documentation from September-May. Medical exemptions will be reviewed.
If history of positive PPD/TB blood test must have a CXR done after the positive test, referral to RISE clinic or letter from provider certifying free of active disease and symptoms and recommendation/documentation of treatment, and a completed TB symptom survey.
Copy Valid Drivers License
Two PPD Skin tests or One IGRA completed within the last year.
Proof of 2 immunizations or Positive Titer.
Proof of Immunization within 10 years.
Resume or Profile
Minimum 1 Supervisory
Federal, County, National and Statewide Background Check with OIG, NSO, GSA/SAM Searches required. Must include all aliases. Within 6 months of start.
All testing and forms to be signed then uploaded for review prior to start.
Must be signed before start.
Last 5 years.
Must be completed annually.
