What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Technology position at Kenton City SD?
Proper certification required: Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field or alternative training/experience that meets district and state department of educators requirements.
Qualifications:
Demonstrates a complete understanding of technology applications in an academic environment substantiated by training/work experience.
Strong data analysis skills using spreadsheets, databases, etc.
Scripting experience preferred.
Available to work irregular hours/non-traditional schedule as an “on-call” employee when required.
Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline and a willingness to take on challenging tasks.
Exhibits effective time management and resourceful problem solving skills.
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Develops/implements strategies to enhance staff/student use of technology resources.
Develops/implements a district technology plan.
Monitors/facilitates program compliance with all pertinent local, state and federal laws.
Actively supervises department staff. Establishes appropriate levels of employee autonomy. Helps staff understand/participate in district-wide professional development. Assumes responsibility for the results of duties delegated to staff. Evaluates/documents staff performance.
Works collaboratively with administrators/staff to evaluate the specific technology needs of each building. Works with staff to censure technology resources are used effectively.
Maintains district server and client management systems.
Resolves connectivity and internal technical problems.
Manages the proper use/care of program equipment and software. Maintains district inventory and equipment assigned to staff/students.
Oversees the provision of district-wide help desk services.
Provides administrative direction and oversight of district websites.
Manages the upkeep of technology equipment. Schedules/monitors repairs by outside vendors.
Helps teachers incorporate technology resources that enhance student learning in all areas of the curriculum.
Participates in collaborative planning of staff development/inservice training activities.
Creates and manages a 5 year board approved budget.
Exemplifies professionalism and fosters goodwill to enhance the district’s public image.
Develops mutually respectful relationships with co-workers. Functions as part of a cohesive team.
Respects privacy and maintains the confidentiality of privileged information.
Participates in training to keep current with professional standards associated with work duties.
