CLASS SUMMARY :
Reviews, revises and updates Department policies and procedures according to Kentucky Revised Statues (KRS) and all applicable laws and accreditation standards in order to reduce liability for Department and Kenton County Airport Board (KCAB). Other responsibilities include daily input of payroll, ordering of uniforms and department supplies, assist with maintenance of evidence records and submit reimbursement claims for grants. Works closely with the Finance Department to monitor expenses and budgets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
This class specification represents only the core areas of responsibilities; specific position assignments will vary depending on the needs of the department.
- Processes time sheets on a daily basis. Submits payroll reports bi-weekly.
- Assist with management and maintenance of the evidence room to include records, intake and release, lab submission and evidence destruction to accreditation standards.
- Orders all uniforms, equipment and department supplies; records receipt of goods and forwards information to appropriate department for processing and payment.
- Updates monthly expense report and reconciles with Finance month-end reports.
- Provides Finance with accounts receivable and invoicing information.
- Completes grant reimbursement claims.
- Manages, reviews and revises current Department policies and procedures in accordance with KRS, Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police, KCAB and the Kentucky Department of Library and Archives.
- Monitors and assists Chief and Assistant Chiefs with managing the department budget, to ensure Department stays within budget limits and guidelines.
- Coordinates Department events such as annual NKPCA meeting, monthly staff meetings, employee appreciation, promotions and retirements.
- Serves as a member of KCAB's Covered Entity and is responsible for ensuring the privacy and security of Protected Health Information in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and KCAB Policy 1040.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's degree in a related area and five years of related work experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
