Kent’s Market is seeking a passionate and experienced Produce Manager to lead our produce department. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring fresh and high-quality produce, managing inventory, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who takes pride in offering the freshest fruits and vegetables to our community while maintaining a well-organized and visually appealing department.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the produce department, including inventory management, ordering, receiving, and merchandising.
- Ensure freshness, quality, and proper rotation of all produce items.
- Maintain accurate stock levels and minimize waste through proper handling and storage techniques.
- Lead, train, and develop the produce team, setting expectations for performance and customer service.
- Create engaging displays that highlight seasonal produce and promotions.
- Monitor and maintain department cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards in accordance with store policies and health regulations.
- Manage department scheduling, labor costs, and productivity.
- Work closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and competitive pricing.
- Provide exceptional customer service, assisting shoppers with questions, product recommendations, and special requests.
- Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and competitor offerings to drive sales and profitability.
- Collaborate with store leadership on promotions, sales strategies, and new product introductions.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a produce department, grocery retail, or food service management required.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Knowledge of produce handling, storage, and food safety standards.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
