Distiller

Position Summary: Distillery Operator at Kentucky Artisan Distillery, home of Whiskey Row and Jefferson's Bourbons along with several other high end bourbon products. We offer a team environment where you will be performing all aspects of the distilling process. We are an established and growing company with plenty of room for advancement.

Reporting directly to the Distillery Supervisor, this position is responsible for the daily operation of all distillery processes. You will be working alongside other distillers in a team environment to efficiently and accurately execute all processes in the distillery.

Position Responsibilities:

● Monitor and operate all processes of the distillery including but not limited to grain handling/milling/cooks/fermentation/distillation and processing.

● Perform lab procedures for grain analysis, beer chemistry, ABV% or proof.

● Operate pumps to fill or dump barrels with high attention to detail.

● CIP (cleaning in place) of distillery equipment and tanks.

● Sensory evaluation throughout the distilling process (beginning with raw materials to distillate and ending with finished products).

● Responsible for routine and preventive maintenance on equipment and facility.

● Fill out necessary paperwork and update online tracking system accurately to track progress of distillery processes.

● Comply with all necessary Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safety requirements.

● Maintain a high level of housekeeping within the assigned area and other surrounding areas.

● Ability and willingness to work "hands on" in all aspects of the job.

● Overtime may be required, holiday work, and weekends.

● Other duties as assigned by the Distillery Supervisor.

Education and / or Experience:

A minimum of 1 year relevant experience in the distilling, brewing or wine industry preferred. A High School diploma or equivalent. Accreditation or certificate in distilling or related field a plus. Proven, solid attendance record. Self starter, works well independently. Has basic computer skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Distill X 5 a plus. Ability to walk and stand for an entire shift. Mechanical inclination. Ability to consistently lift up to 50 pounds. Mathematical skills for basic calculations. Exposure to cold, wet, and hot conditions. Experience or willingness to learn forklift operations. Clear and timely communication with supervisor. Must possess good verbal and written communication skills, have strong multi-tasking and time management skills. (Willing to train the right Person)

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
