Kentucky Blood Center is seeking a self-motivated professional who shares our passion for community and saving lives.
The Donor Recruitment Specialist will promote KBC's important mission by education, selling, and scheduling volunteer blood drives. The position will build and maintain relationships, working in partnership with businesses and organizations to coordinate events. The Account Manager will organize blood donor recruitment campaigns; execute various strategies to attract and retain potential blood donors; and communicate with volunteer donor group coordinators to ensure successful blood drives. Recruitment activities cover a broad range of functions including sales, service and public speaking. Candidate must be energetic with a strong, professional presence and proven sales ability, exemplary customer service skills, and ability to excel in a results-oriented work environment. Knowledge of group dynamics, customer maintenance techniques, and negotiation skills required.
Note: This position is bonus eligible and has a set territory. If working remotely, employees must have sufficient communications and IT resources (reliable internet and mobile data, phone, printing capabilities) and an appropriate workspace conducive to performing job duties. Individuals will periodically be required to visit and work from their assigned center, and other KBC locations and worksites.
Work Environment: This position regularly involves the following:
- Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Fulfill basic clerical duties (typing/writing) for extended periods of time.
- Occasionally lift/carry up to 30 pounds without assistance.
- Occasionally bend or reach to perform various job tasks.
- Analyze complex situations and make sound decisions.
- Adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
- Occasionally work outside in heat, cold, wet, humid, or dry conditions.
- Frequently travel to fulfill essential job functions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or appropriate combination of education and related experience.
- Experience in related area preferred, such as sales and marketing, fundraising, or other recruitment and promotional activities in a non-profit setting.
- Professional presence with strong communication and relationship-building skills is essential; must have the ability to effectively deliver presentations and to engage with large groups.
- Flexible schedule with some evenings and weekends; regular travel by car within assigned region.
- Must have reliable transportation, valid Kentucky driver’s license with a safe driving record for travel within region . Mileage reimbursement provided.
- MS Office proficiency, and the ability to effectively navigate web applications and custom systems.
- Proof of education/certifications required during the interview process.
