What are the responsibilities and job description for the Design + Media Manager position at Kentucky Event Company?
We are expanding and are looking for a creative individual to join our team. Kentucky Event Company is an event management, planning, and consulting firm located in Kentucky but serving clients across the U.S. This individual would serve our company internally, as well as work on client-facing tasks.
Kentucky Event Company works with corporate, social, and non-profit clients to create events of all type. Ranging from conferences to trade shows, fundraisers to festivals, internal meetings, sales events, presidents clubs and incentives trips, and so much more. Our events typically see between 20-20,000 and span across the U.S. in a variety of venues and locations.
We are seeking a creative individual to manage our media design, both internally and externally. This is a hybrid role - remote work role for the normal work day, with on-site work required for events. This position can be held by anyone living within the continental United States, preference will be given to individuals living in Kentucky, with second preference given to individuals living in Ohio, Indiana, and Tennessee.
Responsibilities
MEDIA
Team member would oversee and manage the company social media accounts. Currently includes LinkedIn (KEC), Instagram (KEC / MWP), Facebook (KEC / MWP), and two websites. This includes creating the media schedule, creating assets, and filming / photographing content on-site at events to be used on the above platforms (in addition to hired film / video).
DESIGN
Team member would work with the company and / or with our clients to design assets needed for events. Including but not limited to signage, social media graphics, printed materials, invitations, slide decks, etc.
SCHEDULE
Our "office hours" are Monday-Friday 9a-5p EST, unless otherwise discussed (And only on VERY rare occasion) we only meet as a team, and with clients, during this timeframe. All office work is done remotely and we meet using a number of virtual and project management tools.
Event work is done on-site and is scheduled event-to-event as each one is different. Team members are given this schedule well in advance. For this position, this would entail capturing photos and videos of on-site details to be used later for promotion, marketing, social media, etc.
This position assumes 40-50 hours a week. Travel requirements will vary depending on what state the candidate resides in.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience / knowledge of using Illustrator, InDesign, Capcut, Final Cut Pro
- Experience with management of Linkedin, Facebook, and Instagram platforms
- 3 years of graphic design experience (both print and digital)
- 3 years of social media management experience
- Great time management and organization skills
- Proficient in both oral and written communication
