Overview
Reports to: Senior Investment Portfolio Manager
Job Status: Hourly (20 – 38.5 hours per week)
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Location: On-site at KFB State Office in Louisville, KY
Term: May 2025 to August 2025 (term may be extended by mutual agreement of intern and hiring manager)
Intern will assist the Investment Team with the collection of data, preparation of reports, creating investment research, analyzing market data and updating presentations. The candidate will also participate in departmental projects as needed.
Responsibilities
Analyze companies, industries and themes affecting equity and fixed income portfolios.
Collect, compile, and interpret market and economic data.
Create or update slides for various presentations.
Update and organize Investment data files.
Develop an understanding of the insurance industry and related investment strategies.
Prepare a detailed research report covering an assigned company and or sector.
Regular, predicable attendance as employee has to physically be in the office.

Mental demands: Prolonged concentration; Ability to work under time pressure;Analytical reasoning; Ability to problem solve and conduct research. Environmental factors: Standard office lighting, temperature and noise.
Equipment: Keyboard; Calculator; Telephone; Copier; Personal Computer.
Qualifications
Four year degree (in process) required; Finance, Economics, or Accounting field preferred.
0-2 years’ experience in field or in a related area.
Experience in problem solving.
Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Accurate keyboarding skills.
Ability to work well with others, both inside and outside the organization.
Good communication skills, verbal and written.
