Overview
Reports to: Director, Project Services
Job Status: Hourly (20 – 38.5 hours per week)
Pay: $22.00 per hour
Location: On-site at KFB State Office in Louisville, KY
Term: May 2025 to August 2025 (term may be extended by mutual agreement of intern and hiring manager)
The project management intern is responsible for assisting with projects and project tasks, creating and maintaining project documentation and monitoring and reporting on project progress to assist Kentucky Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company in meeting project objectives and delivering value to the organization.
Prepare, publish and distribute project-related documentation, such as status reports, RAID logs, etc.
Monitors project work to ensure the project is on track (Budget, resources, schedule).
Assists with leading and directing the project planning efforts.
Establishes a team charter and sets ground rules for the team to work together.
Assists the team with project execution.
Establishes team meetings, Advisor meetings, and Sponsor Meetings regularly.
Creates agendas for meetings and shares this with stakeholders in advance.
Helps to identify and deliver required levels of quality.
Works with senior project managers to identify stakeholders and manage stakeholder engagement and expectations throughout the project.
Maintains control of the project by monitoring performance and determining variances from the plan.
Keeps the team informed and focused on risk management and possible responses to risks.
Regular, predictable attendance as employee must physically be in the office.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Actively enrolled as a college student with a minimum of two years toward a Bachelor’s degree desired.
Interest in project management or scrum master work.
Strong communication skills, good judgement to help assess project risks, creative problem solving, willingness to learn and ask questions.
Knowledge of software development life cycle a plus.
Proficient with Microsoft.
Knowledge of Jira or interest in learning Jira and other project management software.
