Job Summary :
The Chief Engineer plans and executes the overall maintenance requirements of the Kentucky Performing Arts venue (KPA) and all other venues owned or managed by KPA. This position also manages the Engineering team to repair and maintain each of the KPA facilities. The Chief Engineer also plans and oversees a variety of projects determined by the Director of Facilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Supports the mission, vision, and values of Kentucky Performing Arts while understanding and complying with company expectations, policies, and procedures.
- Adapts well to changing priorities, deadlines, and directions with a positive and open mindset. Communicates clearly, consistently, respectfully, and collaboratively when communicating on behalf of KPA.
- Participates in all appropriate internal and external meetings, as well as professional development programs to maintain competency and increase acumen.
- Establishes, reviews and revises as necessary all maintenance procedures for the safety of all employees, patrons, and users of KPA venues in conjunction with the management team.
- Develops long-term maintenance strategies for KPA and all other facilities that they maintain.
- Implement and maintain CMMS building workorder and preventative maintenance system.
- Oversee the management of the Building Automation System for maximum efficiency and cost savings.
- Establishes procedures to handle all maintenance emergencies with Director of Facilities.
- Control all maintenance costs within the approved budgetsand operate building systems for maximum efficiency and cost savings.
- Directs and reviews all maintenance plans and special projects.
- Coordinates all projects with the appropriate outside contractors to minimize interruptions of activities and to ascertain the impact of any revisions to plant or equipment.
- Plans, review, and implement preventative maintenance programs in conjunction with the Director of Facilities.
- Works with contractors to develop quotes for all capital projects as directed by the Director of Facilities.
- Develops annual maintenance budgets for review by Director of Facilities.
- Controls all maintenance costs within the approved budget.
- Manages capital projects as assigned.
- Develops quotes, bids, cost analysis for capital projects as directed by the Director of Operations.
- Implements procedures that ensure the safety of all employees through proper training and observation.
- Maintain ongoing OSHA safety training throughout the facility.
- Ensure building maintenance and engineering support is provided for all events
