What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Soap Maker position at Kentucky Soaps & Such?
Position Summary:
The Lead Soap Maker will oversee the production of all Plainview Farm products and will be responsible for managing inventory, developing and fulfilling production goals, scheduling staff, and maintaining all aspects of the production facility.
Essential Duties:
- Develop annual production plan based on projected store needs.
- Evaluate and monitor raw material inventory.
- Order raw materials from appropriate vendors as needed to meet production goals.
- Schedule and supervise production team.
- Maintain knowledge of proper safety protocol and train other team members.
- Monitor cleanliness of production equipment and facility.
- Track production progress using relevant computer software.
- Monitor inventory levels, ensuring proper organization and storage of finished product.
- Communicate with Store Leader to ensure retail needs are being met.
- Coordinate with Marketing Team to advertise seasonal or special products.
- Facilitate tours of the production area whenever requested by customers.
Skills / Talents:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills
- General accounting knowledge preferred
- Experience leading a team
- Experience with inventory management
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Willingness and ability to learn and to educate others
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs
