Custodial Supervisor
Kentucky Wesleyan College, a private, liberal arts college, located in Owensboro, KY, with a

Custodial Supervisor to join our community. The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for the
operation and supervision of the custodians and custodial services at Kentucky Wesleyan
College. This role is on-site and ensures a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students,
staff, and visitors.
Major Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate activities of the custodial staff, while adhering to established
- Train, evaluate, and provide feedback to custodial staff that promotes professional
- Performs daily quality control inspections and monitors custodian work performance.
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state, local, and college safety and security policies
and procedures.
- Determines materials, supplies, and equipment needed to plan accordingly for activities
- Strong leadership skills to professionally and appropriately supervise custodial staff and
- Work on special projects and events, as required.
- Respond to emergencies, as required and directed.
- Able to operate a motor vehicle for business purposes.
- 100% on site availability and attendance
- Assumes other duties, as assigned by the Department Manager.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to delegate and supervise custodial staff and projects to meet deadlines and
regulation requirements.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision, including occasional nights,
- Good computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new programs, as
- Possess a valid drivers license with insurability under the College’s insurance policy.
- Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor activities, over a period of time:
o Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, climb, stoop, bend, twist, reach, grasp small or
large objects.
o Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry at least 20 pounds regularly.
o Must be able to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 40 pounds occasionally.
o Must be able to work in varying temperatures and environments.
o Working knowledge of hand tools

The Custodial Supervisor position is an exempt position paid on a salary basis. The above
position description provides a general overview and level of work to be performed by an

for this position is $50,000.
