Kentucky Wesleyan College, a private, liberal arts college, located in Owensboro, KY, with a

Custodial Supervisor to join our community. The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for the
operation and supervision of the custodians and custodial services at Kentucky Wesleyan
College. This role is on-site and ensures a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students,
staff, and visitors.

Major Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of the custodial staff, while adhering to established

• Train, evaluate, and provide feedback to custodial staff that promotes professional

• Performs daily quality control inspections and monitors custodian work performance.
• Ensures compliance with all federal, state, local, and college safety and security policies

and procedures.

• Determines materials, supplies, and equipment needed to plan accordingly for activities

• Strong leadership skills to professionally and appropriately supervise custodial staff and

• Work on special projects and events, as required.
• Respond to emergencies, as required and directed.
• Able to operate a motor vehicle for business purposes.
• 100% on site availability and attendance
• Assumes other duties, as assigned by the Department Manager.
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to delegate and supervise custodial staff and projects to meet deadlines and

regulation requirements.

• Able to work independently with minimal supervision, including occasional nights,

• Good computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new programs, as

• Possess a valid drivers license with insurability under the College’s insurance policy.
• Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor activities, over a period of time:

o Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, climb, stoop, bend, twist, reach, grasp small or
large objects.

o Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry at least 20 pounds regularly.
o Must be able to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 40 pounds occasionally.
o Must be able to work in varying temperatures and environments.
o Working knowledge of hand tools

The Custodial Supervisor position is an exempt position paid on a salary basis. The above
position description provides a general overview and level of work to be performed by an
employee in this position and does not constitute a contract of employment. The position

for this position is $50,000.
