Custodian
Kentucky Wesleyan College, a private, liberal arts college with a long-standing reputation for
quality and academic excellence, invites applications for a full-time Custodian to join our
community.
Schedule: This position will generally work from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday,
with occasional weekends as needed.
Major Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning (dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, wash, restrooms, trash, etc.).
- Perform deeper cleaning as needed (carpets, upholstery, fixtures, windows, blinds, etc.).
- Use industrial custodial equipment (vacuums, buffers, scrubbers) and chemicals
(strippers, waxes).
- Work on special projects (moving furniture, set ups).
- Following safety and security policies and procedures.
- Consistent and reliable attendance is essential for this role.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to work some weekends on a rotating schedule.
- Must be dependable and able to work as part of a team.
- Must be capable of using industrial custodial equipment.
- Must be able to learn the proper use of cleaning chemicals.
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds on a regular basis, and 40 pounds occasionally.
