As the functional leader for packaging material science, this position will play a pivotal role in shaping the material strategy, driving innovation, and ensuring the performance standards of packaging quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and sustainability.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the R&D Packaging team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Develop and implement the company's packaging material strategy, aligning it with brand product development goals, regulatory requirements, and sustainability initiatives.
- Lead efforts in designing and developing new packaging materials, focusing on enhancing product protection, aesthetics, and environmental impact.
- Stay current with packaging regulations and quality standards, ensuring all packaging materials adhere to industry and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with Packaging and all R&D functions, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to integrate packaging requirements seamlessly into product development.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience (8 years) in material development, including program leadership or management roles.
- Strong knowledge of packaging material properties, polymer science, and material interactions.
- Proficiency in material testing techniques, including mechanical testing, permeability analysis, thermal analysis, and accelerated aging studies.
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving innovation in packaging materials.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.
