As a senior member of our Research & Development team, the Packaging Material Science Leader will be responsible for driving innovation and ensuring the highest standards of packaging quality, safety, and sustainability at Kenvue. This key role will involve providing strategic direction and leadership to the R&D Packaging team, as well as collaborating closely with Packaging and all R&D functions, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to integrate packaging requirements seamlessly into product development. Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive packaging material strategy that meets business objectives, regulatory requirements, and sustainability targets.
- Design and develop innovative packaging materials that enhance product protection, aesthetics, and environmental impact.
- Stay current with packaging regulations and quality standards, ensuring compliance with industry guidelines.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the R&D Packaging team.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of packaging requirements into product development.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in material development, including program leadership or management roles.
- Strong knowledge of packaging material properties, polymer science, and material interactions.
- Proficiency in material testing techniques, including mechanical testing, permeability analysis, thermal analysis, and accelerated aging studies.
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving innovation in packaging materials.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.
